5th Watch - Morning Prayer
What is the "Fifth Watch"?
In ancient biblical times, the day and night were divided into prayer watches. The Fifth Watch marks the first watch of the day (6:00 AM – 9:00 AM)... The hours of the sunrise. Spiritually, this watch represents preparation, fresh alignment, and commanding the day before entering the harvest field. It is the hour when the day's light breaks, fresh mercy is released, and the early disciples were empowered by the Holy Spirit for service (Acts 2:15).
Scripture reminds us that Jesus Himself modeled this exact morning rhythm:
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” (Mark 1:35)
Just as Jesus prioritized seeking the Father at the start of the day, coming together in united prayer strengthens our foundations, aligns our ministries, and empowers us to serve effectively.
