The City of Oakland received $36.9 million in State of California CARES Act funding. Five million dollars of those funds were allocated for renter and homeowner relief through the Keep Oakland Housed (KOH) partnership of KOH nonprofit partners and other nonprofit organizations. This funding will provide one-time financial assistance to low-income renters and homeowners impacted by COVID-19. The application period opens today, September 1, 2020.

EMS CORPS IS NOW ACCEPTING WOMEN IN OUR CO-ED EMS CORPS PROGRAM!
The Emergency Medical Services Corps (EMS Corps) is currently accepting applications for our Spring 2021 class. Our mission is to increase the number of underrepresented Emergency Medical Technicians through youth development, mentoring, and job training.
EMS Corps will continue as a national model that provides an opportunity for young adults to become competent and successful healthcare providers. Our core values are Courage, Character, and Commitment.
EMS Corps is a five-month program, participants receive; paid stipend, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training, transformative mentoring, life coaching, physical fitness, and more.
The eligibility requirements are:
High School Diploma or GED
Young adults between 18-26 years of age
Meet the EMS authority background requirements (info on the online app)
